Fife & Forfar Yeomanry (Imperial Yeomanry during Boer War)
Which web site would list the names of those who were in South Africa between 1899-1902.

Re: Boer War
Hello G.B.C.,
“The Fifes in South Africa, being a history of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry in the South African War, 1900 – 1901” is very detailed and includes a full list of officers and men at the back. I’m not sure whether this includes any replacements after the original formation. http://archive.org/stream/fifesinsoutha ... 3/mode/2up
Their recruitment and military adventures were covered extensively in the Dundee Courier, and possibly other Scottish newspapers, and included publication of a number of letters sent home by the soldiers. I think I saw the full names published for some of the volunteers. If you would like to disclose your soldier’s full name I’ll see if I can find anything there for him.
Here’s the National Archives page for researching a British Soldier up to 1913. I think that FMP and Ancestry have between them most of what’s available online. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/reco ... to1913.htm
Hope that helps,
Alan
