It might be helpful to know that many shipwrights, both before and after serving as shipwrights, can also be shown as Carpenters, joiners and the like in censuses.

I only know this as many of my ancestors were sometimes shown as shipwrights or carpenters, depending on the the census date. Some also became undertakers.
