For as long as I have been researching I was told that at a point in her career my granny and her first husband stayed in Camelon. Now at last I have been able to pin down a reasonably tight time frame of approximately July 1898 to May 1900.
As this misses out a census and as far as I know they had no children born in that time, what other resources might I check to see where they were and what they were up to?
Family rumour suggests they were involved in the licensed trade. This ties in with information supplied on a child's birth certificate of Nov 1897 - occupation - spirit merchant's assistant.
I have no idea where in Camelon they might have stayed.

Hi Andrew
My first thoughts on this were Trade Directories for the area. I don't know if there are any available on-line and with him being an assistant he would probably not have an entry by name but it would help to establish how many spirit merchants there were in Camelon at that time. Some directories gave the number of employees.
I wondered if there was some form of Valuation Roll which would list tenancies.
These are the only likely sources that spring to mind.
