GENERAL INFORMATION
I have a relative who died in 1978/1979 but cannot remember if they were buried or cremated. I know where they died and exact date of death. They died in hospital but the town where they died was not where they lived. They lived and died in Scotland. Can anyone suggest which direction I need to go in.

Re: GENERAL INFORMATION
It may be worth seeing if a local newspaper archive is available online, to see if you can find a funeral notice.

For Glasgow, Google has the following.
The Glasgow Herald
https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid= ... de=2&hl=en
Evening Times
https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid= ... de=2&hl=en
The British Newspaper Archive appears to have four Scottish newspapers for 1978.

Aberdeen Press and Journal
Aberdeen Evening Express
Strathearn Herald
West Lothian Courier
FamilySearch has a Wiki on Scottish Cemeteries.

For a cremation ashes could end up anywhere, or everywhere.
Best of luck,
Alan
