Hi Gary

Something called Hamilton Parish Churchyard is likely to be CoS not RC, but not impossible that someone who was Roman Catholic might be buried there. There appear to be two St Marys in Hamilton, one is RC and the other Episcopalian, neither of which are the Parish Church. (Google maps)

Use Google maps to find the Parish church. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 20&iwloc=A

According to Genuki, the church yard is now closed.

Hi Gary
awwww so we wouldnt beable to go in and see if there was a stone or anything..........
"closed" in the context of a graveyard usually means that people can no longer be buried there. I expect there would be no reason why you could not go and have a look around, provided the gates are open - it is most likely not closed to the living!!

Having a look at some map sites, it looks as though there's a car park right beside the churchyard.

If I'm looking at the right one, it sits between Cadzow Road & Strathmore Road - and has plenty of existing stones.

Looks as though there are gates at each entrance - but whether they're locked or not .....?
