Hi Trish

Hope?...Robert?......yeah that's pretty close! Reminds me of my Isaiah and Sarah :(

At least they were able to locate the record for you and yes given time the indexes are periodically updated with corrections such as your own. I too have great regard for the folks at GROS who work to keep us happy! THere are a great bunch of workerbees there....all very human indeed!

Best wishes
Jean

Just for the record - I have looked up the two McDonald brothers on the '51 census with some of my free credits. They are actually Brick Moulders, which makes more sense. In fact, nearly everyone on the whole page seems to be involved in brick manufacture in some form. Must have been near a brick works.

Not wanting to impose on kindness, but would anyone have burial records or MIs for Cadder/Old Monkland area between 1841 and 1855? I have found a site for Cadder but it seems the essential years are missing, but its not necessarily Cadder - or there may be an MI (although given the status of the family, I very much doubt it.) Still searching for deaths for William McDonald snr. and Agnes (Hislop) McDonald. They are on the '41 census, can't find them on '51 and "both deceased" on their son's marriage cert in 1855. Not so concerned about William as I have all his ancestry & sidebranches etc. back to 1720, but Agnes is a mystery. She was probably born somewhere around Sanquhar/Wanlockhead area or possibly just into Ayrshire, about 1800. (She is not the daughter of Thomas Hislop and Elizabeth Hope, Canonbie). Would I be better starting a new thread with this?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks again
Trish
