If it was fisherman's there would be a very prominent H. It's Steam Boat Fireman's Wife i.e. the man who tends the fire under the boiler.

Hi all,
Thank you for this version Andrew, that must be it Alan, Steam Boat Fireman's wife, when he died he was a fireman in a factory, I wondered why he had that type of job, all along I thought he was at sea.
Thank you Susan and Archiver, Marischal Street, a new one for me.
I had better go and find him now!
Thanks very much
Ann

Hi Ann:
I agree with Currie on Steamboat Fireman's Wife He may well have been at sea for a good part of his life, opting to stay closer to home when an opportunity to do the same type of work came along.
Frances

Hi Frances,
It does look likely, that this was his occupation, now a new difficulty, finding him if he was at sea!! I like a challenge, just as well after today
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Anne,
I have seen this Joseph and followed him for a bit as the age was quite near, as I am guessing from the 1841 census, no OPR, but it's not the right one, I wish it was though
Mine was born and in Aberdeen.
Thanks
Ann
