Yes, well, I´m not sure where to go from here!

A lot of conflicting evidence.

I cannot find Ann in the ´71 census.

I cannot find either a marriage, or a death for her.

In the ´41 census in Kilchrennan, she is in a household with her father Duncan Sinclair 65, and her newly born daughter Catharine. Also Ann´s sister, Catharine plus husband Roderick Chisholm, a gardener from Ross.

Their daughter is not quite with us yet, Ann Irvine Campbell Chisholm who appears in the ´51 census with Ann Sinclair. Interesting middle names though, not obviously appropriate.

In 1845, Ann bore a son, Duncan, my great grandfather, and found the kirk less than willing to ignore her second slip.

He is not to be found definitely until ´71 census, yet another stumbling block.

Thanking all who have put their minds and PCs to solving all these vexed questions.
