It does fit the pattern that Jane seems to have lived by though. I have trawled the William Robertsons born at the time in the area to mothers called Jane / Jean Robertson and I think this is the only one that fits but as I have not a lot more to go on yet, and he has not been in the "direct line", he has been on the back burner a bit. I do "know" from family information, that William was the eldest of the three, and a policeman in Hawick at some time and had three sons. I am a bit dubious about the three sons though. I think there may have been only two but again, I cant confirm that yet.Does your crystal ball reveal another skeleton lurking in the cupboard?
