help me trace Ann Forbes

As you all helped so much with tracing Ann, here is the next question - Whatever happened to her father's family?

I have them in the 1841 census:
Geo St, Aberdeen West
George Forbes, 45, born Aberdeenshire, Porter
Jean Dean, 41, born Aberdeenshire (This is George's wife known as Jean Den on the marriage cert)
Barbra Forbes, 15, born Aberdeenshire
William Forbes, 15, born Aberdeenshire, Ap Sh Maker
Jean Forbes, 10, born Aberdeenshire
Margt Forbes, 6, born Aberdeenshire
Elsie Forbes, 1, born Aberdeenshire

But can find no trace in the 1851 census for any of them. By then son William was married to Helen Paul as we have already talked about. Daughters Barbra and Jean could have been married but mum, dad, William, Margaret and Elsie - nothing. Strange indeed.

Douglas - I realise these postings are some years ago but I've just come across this site. Ann Forbes was my great, great grandmother.

My father was Iain Davidson, his father a Henry Davidson, grandfather an Adam Davidson and great grandfather an Archibald Davidson (wife Anne Forbes). All lived around Slateford in Edinburgh.

Let me know if you want any details of the Davidson side of the family.
