Thank you for your help.

We looked at the new baptisms to Adam and Isbella in Jedburgh but thought that there were duplicate names and that the dates seemed a little too late. We concluded that there may be two Adam Scotts married to two Isabella Raes!! No proof yet but will keep looking.

Have to admit that I was looking for a John/Isabella Scott-Freudian slip as John is a well used name in my Scotts.

Hi all,

Hugh Scott, b 1831, died in 1873 in Landward of New Monkland, Lanarkshire. His parents are given as Adam Scott, labourer, deceased and Isabella Rae, deceased. He was an iron miner married to Rebecca Donaldson. Hugh died July 23, 1873 and their last child, son Robert, was born November 3, 1873 at the same address.
