Or she needed a place to stay or work or protection or was pregnant & he being a man was kind & not all flatterred by a young girl's attention or he had lots of moneyand/ or property. :lol: Maybe she was a
necropheliac & getting desperate- bad taste I know.

I have one (and possibly another) where an older man married his housekeeper (the spinster in service).

On these marriage certificates, is the bride's occupation noted? Was she a housekeeper?
