Don't forget you can access the 1881 Census for Scotland at a LDS Family History Centre near to you.They have it on Disc & although "their" idea of Scotland's Highlands/Lowlands varies from mine it has proved very useful in my search for Rellies.

Had they called the CDs Scotland Disk #1 and Scotland Disk #2 (or Scotland - North and Scotland - South) instead of "Highland Counties" and "Lowland Counties" then they'd have made life a bit easier for those folk who don't realise that the Kingdom of Fife, for example, is not in the Highlands
Unfortunately, there's a widespread mistaken belief in the US that anything north of a line drawn between Glasgow and Edinburgh is in the Highlands
