Robert Meikle 1881 census

Post by Jack » Sun Mar 12, 2006 8:16 pm

Hi Caroline,
This 1881 census now has me wondering....
Did i look at someone else's occupation when i wrote "fishmonger" for Robert MEIKLE (32) in 1851... :?
It will be checked! This looks very like the same family from the 1851 & 1861 censuses.
I'd only looked at the latter's name index [1861 cens 644-6 Ed 61 pp5-6 Blythswood],
but will get this census too whilst i'm checking Robert's occupation in 1851.

Thanks for these Jack - does look as though the enumerator might have got the occupation very wrong though doesn't it.
