Help with Surname.....

The IGI lists an extracted entry for the Christening of Ann Gartshore on 9th July 1837 in Rutherglen, parents Alexander Gartshore & Agnes Urie. SP lists this & also the birth/baptism of Robert Gartshore on 6th August 1840, same parents. Perhaps Ann & Robert could be siblings of Margaret. This ties up with the suggested surname of Urie which I presume was Mary Blackwood's maiden name.

Wow goodmorning everyone ,

thanks you to you all , nice way to wake up and a problem solved ,

Mary did have a Sister Agnes Urie born 1810 Rutherglen parents Robert Urie and Margaret Watson , so looks like her daughter ,

Will now have to go digging see what else i can find .

Will find you all another problem later to keep you all busy.

Look for the marriage of a James WILSON and Margaret GARTSHORE.

The female death index crosscheck will then give you her death at a ripe old age.

Fantastic work all of you ! Considering the surname possibilities you started with. Funny thing was it ended up with Gartshore which is a name I have just added to my tree too.
