Yes, the Janet Shaw aged 15 in 1841 is her, living with her parents.
Unfortunately, of the three illegitimate children she had with John Frew, I only know the name of one of them:
OPR register (612-2) for 24th June 1844, Newton-on-Ayr. "Janet Shaw, unmarried, had a daughter baptised, Born to John Frew, unmarried, lately deceased, on the 25th day of May Past and named Mary Eaglesome Smith"
But the two others must have been born between the 1841 census and the autumn of 1843.
Probably the only chance I have of getting any further with John Frew is if there are any records of the Fever Hospital where he died - if I found him in any other records, I could never be sure he was the right one.
Would you make this leap of faith? …..

There are 5 Frew's mentioned in 1821 census index for st. q uivox, they are .Archibald he was a grocer living in george st. Robert he was a collier living in cross st. William he was also a collier from cross st. there is also a female,mentioned as a widow living in Whitelets and Agnes in Sandyford
