Davey Excuse my ignorance - but what does "they can claim full blooded Highland roots from the Outer Hebrides and the Western Highlands" mean?

Look at the palces of birth of James and Catherine, the former from Lochmaddy, the latter from Appin.

I know this is an old thread, but I have traced james McLaen born Lochmaddy 1826, as my GG Grandfather. I am after further information can you help. his son James or John was my Fathers Grandfather.
