Got side tracked into a game of Connect 4 with my son Andrew - poor wee man was putting his all into it and I was inching toward the putter
So long as my black bun is the only bun in the oven - I'm happy to be back
.
I think Jean has it spot on - that's the one - she made it all seem really easy.
I was looking for a McLean not a MacLean
I need to start looking at the bigger picture.
I always get dead fangled and end up heading off in the wrong direction.
Your all just fantastic.
By the way Pinkie I have lots more rellies to go, so perhaps we can pool our ideas and with the help of the experienced folks here we can help each other.
No long noo!!!!!

Hi, can I ask about your John McEwan please?
'My' John McEwan was born 1855 in Menstrie to John McEwan and Euphemia Parlan and promptly disappeared. There were three sons [John, William and James ] and one went to Canada.William, my Grandfather, ended up in Motherwell, another brother in Wishaw but I don't know which one.
I'm grateful for any info

Hi Bobby in Melbourne, I'm only back as far my G grandparents.
That was the John McEwan who married Jessie Ann.
That Johns father was James McEwan, so I'm still early days yet.
I shall bear your question in mind, and when I get that far back, with the help of all the great folks here
, I'll let you know what I've (we've
) come up with.
So far there has been a strong McEwan family connection with Clackmannanshire - there are loads, and I mean loads of McEwans there -
