If someone has access to the 1851 census would they be kind enough to look up
Thomas McGibbon,
Wife Catherine[McPherson] and daughter Mary.
Mary was b. 1843. I have no idea where they were living unfortunately or their ages.
Thank you very much.
I have looked at Free census but not found them

Hello Sarah,
Thanks so much for your quick reply.
Unfortunately I know very little about this couple. Their daughter Mary married Peter McGregor on June 5 1860 Stirling , 2 years later this couple and their 8mth old daughter Catherine left Glasgow on the "Helenslee" bound for Australia.
I have very little on Mary before her arrival in Oz. I have found quite a bit on Peter's family tho'.
I have a copy of Mary and Peter's marriage cert. It states she was 20 when she was married, so I just relised she must have born in 1840 not 43.
The marriage cert. says Thomas McGibbon was dead by this time and that he had been a labourer. Catherine [McPherson] McGibbon was still alive.
A relative has some account books of Mary's and it seems she was practicing her writing in them. She wrote that she was born in Ireland and that her surname was Malone. It's all quite a mystery.
Unfortunately I can't use Scotland people as my husband won't use his credit card on the net, so I really hope someone can help.
I try to repay peoples kindness by transcribing for FreeBMD.
Thanks
Marybeth
