Scottish Census on web .....

Post by sam gibson » Sun Jun 26, 2005 11:10 pm

To Those who answered my posting on the 1901 Census last week:

We have hopefully worked out with our new Webmaster, putting Los Angeles F.H.C. Scottish Research Material on our web site. If there are no technically difficulties, some material should be availbale by next week-end.

This will include a complete Cross Reference Chart of all Scottish Censuses from 1841 to 1901, including both 1841 and 1851 Filmings.
All Censuses will be displayed along the top with Parishes and Registration Districts displayed along the side. In-between will be all the Film Numbers you need for your Research. The 1841 through 1891 Censuses will display SALT LAKE LIBRARY CATALOGUE NUMBERS, the 1901 will display LOS ANGELES F.H.C. CATALOGUE NUMBERS, as we are purchasing this Census independently.

A Chart displaying a Registration and Enumeration District Breakdown of the complete 1901 Census will be available, indicating G.R.O.S. Reel Numbers and L.A.F.H.C. Catalogue Numbers.

A Chart with a simplified layout of each Census Pages showing the questions asked and each of catergories to be filled out by the Enumerator will also be available.

If this works out the way that I want it, then we should be able to put some more material up in the coming months.

The web site for Los Angeles Family History Centre is:

1901 SCOTTISH CENSUS ON L.A.F.H.C. web site

Post by sam gibson » Tue Jul 05, 2005 2:34 pm

Good morning everybody.

I've just signed off on the Scottish Material that will be going up on the L.A.F.H.C. web site, it's not exactly the way I wanted, but I had given the webmaster quite a bit to work with. It is acceptable and with a couple of corrections, it should be up in the next day or so.
There were a couple of mistakes on the SCOTTISH CENSUS table, as soon as that is taken care of, you will have a complete listing by CENSUS, PARISH and ENUMERATION DISTRICT, OF every film in the Salt Lake and Los Angeles Catalogue from 1841 to 1901.

That's great news Sam.

I received your package in the mail and will deliver copy to all three genealogy clubs here in the desert.
