1861 Census Help

Hi Can anyone help me find my GG Grandmother in the 1861 Census.  Finding where she is in 1861 might help in identifying Alexander Symon - have two about her age in 1861 (not that means much) - one a Grocer in Garmouth and one a Farmers son in Alvah.

1832 - Born Rosemarkie, BlackIsle (father salmon fisher - following the fish?)
1841 - Bellie with parents and family (back home) born Banffshire
1851 - Speymouth - Kingston, Domestic Servant, born Bellie
1861 - ?
1863 - called before Deskford Kirk Session for fornication with Alexander Symon (records not surviving)
1865 - Deskford KSM referenced in Bellie KSM (GG Granda was being thran )
1871 - Bellie, Domestic Servant, with mother, daughter & nephew, born Blackisle
1881 - Bellie, Domestic Servant, Anderson Household, born Bellie
1891 - Bellie, Pauper, with granddaughters Margaret and Mary Symon, born Bellie
1901 - Bellie, Pauper, with granddaughter Mary Symon, born Bellie
1910 - Died

1861 Census
She is not the 21yr old in Speymouth (I don't think) I turned up on a free Ancestry search
She is not the 33yr old in Urquhart (with mother) born Bellie on SP  (in Garmouth 1841 born Moray, 1851 born Bellie)
She is not the married 30yr old in Banff born Fordyce on SP
She is not the married 31yr old in Keith born Gartly (which I read as Marg - probably Margaret not Mary) on SP

Any help gratefully received.

I'm afraid she is looking pretty elusive in '61. I think that there are a few gaps in the censuses, some of them dating from the census-taking and some due to modern omissions.

Yeah that is what I was finding, originally I plumped for the 21 year old, thinking the house owner might be guessing her age, but I am not so sure now. Isn't helped by the second Mary Thomson in Speymouth/Urquhart about the same age and born in Bellie - they both applied for Poor Relief in different parishes about the same time too! So I have to find two to rule one out. Speymouth (1851) and Deskford (1863) are in totally different directions either side of Bellie.

I might see if I can track down this 21 yr old's birth and prove there is/isn't one, she might still be a possibility.

You are a genius, Sally! I hadn't found that one. Never thought of putting a wild card in Thomson. And it all ties in with Deskford. So GG Grandfather is probably Alexander Symon of Alvah.
