Possible to search by Street name?...Yes! I always search by "exact matches only" so make sure this box is checked. Not sure if this makes a difference here! Following is an example of the various boxes that you can enter search data in for the 1841 Scottish Census...

1841 Scotland Census

Exact matches only

First Name
Last Name
Spelling (Exact or Soundex)
Residence
County (All or enter the specific county name)
Civil parish (All or enter the parish name)
Street name
Parish number
Enumeration District
Personal
Gender
Birth Year*
Occupation
Birthplace**
Country (AllEnglandForeign PartsIrelandScotland)
County
Other
Page #
Keyword(s)

Not sure this helps answer your question.....

Best wishes
Jean

Hi Cathie,

I think the 1841 is the only one where it has a place to search on street name as jean has pointed out. But with the others if you mark exact matches then County, you can enter the street name in the keywords box.

Karen
Lochiel, McKinlay, McGibbon/McCubbin, Cunningham, McDougall, Burnside - Lanarkshire->Ayrshire.
Hay, Hannah, - Kirkcudbright.
McIntosh, McQuaters/McWatters, White, - Kilmarnock
Murdoch, Hope, McMillan - Muirkirk

Hi Cathie,
On an exact match search on a particular census, click on Show Advanced Search Options at the bottom of the search box. Then you will have all the options you can use for a search. Put the street name in the address box and off you go! No need for a county name.

All the best,
Sarah

I used street name to help me find someone. My son-in-law's family knew what street a wife's family had lived on but could not remember her surname.

Worked like a charm! Got a list of residents and they immediately recognised the one we were looking for!

McDonald or MacDonald (some couldn't make up their mind!), Bonner, Crichton, McKillop, Campbell, Cameron, Gitrig (+other spellings), Clark, Sloan, Stewart, McCutcheon, Ireland (the surname)

Because of the many transcription errors on Ancestry, I would search with and without "exact" boxes checked depending on what I was looking for.
Anderson, McAlpine, Blue - Argyll
Dunn Fife /ML
Coutts, McGregor - Perth/Govan
Glen, Crow, Imrie - Angus
Scott & Pick ML
Mason - Co Down
