Shirra family 1851

Here they are in 1841 from FREECEN -

Although birthplace is stated Lanarkshire most of the family were born at Kippen, Stirling, where Nicol and Elizabeth were married.

I've found all the girls and probably John in 1851. Nicol senior was deceased by 1855, when Janet died, and Elizabeth (McCulloch) Shirra died in 1856 but I cannot find her in 1851.

Hope somebody else can.

I can only see this possible on SP - age out by quite a bit (could it be a mistranscription of 46?):

1851 SHIRRA ELIZA F 40 BARONY GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 622/00 158/00 022
Seems to be a William Shirra on the same page, aged 46,so maybe not "your" one if he is a husband.

Hi Annette,

On ScotlandsPeople you can find the household that Jean gives above by searching for Elizth Sheira. The first four are on that page, the remainder (more lodgers) are on the next page. If she was being exact by giving Kippen, Perthshire as her birthplace, then that could help narrow down the location as the parish was split between Perthshire and Stirlingshire.

That looks like the one Jean!!

Didn't think to look for Elizth and I had tried all sorts for Shirra.

Wee Elizabeth was transcribed as Sturra in 1851 and living with Isabella 'Binnie' which should be Rennie. I did my very first correction request to Ancestry for this one as I'm sure it's them.

I was hoping Nicol senior was still alive to confirm his place of birth.

Looks like a trip to The Mitchell is in order as it looks as though Elizabeth didn't fare to well after he died.
