Hi all
I bought the recent WDYTYA mag and have found that on the cover disk you can get "free" access to the 1901 Scottish Census at Ancestry. The link on the CD will work until 10th October. Not exactly "free" as such, as the magazine costs £4.25, but not a bad deal if you do not normally have Ancestry access and have a few 1901 Scots folk to follow up.
I've been off trying to establish what relatives my grandmother went to stay with on holidays in Cromarty around 1906/7 when she was very little - hoping the 1901 might shed some light. I know what area they went to (Udale Bay/Kirkmichael area) as there are photographs, but trying to work out who exactly they were staying with!
Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Nina
I found some possible leads, but nothing concrete. But hey what's new!
Thanks for asking.

Lesley,
If you like I can have a look for you - a new pair of eyes sometimes works!
