Hi Clive,

These may be yours - no more details at present.
No sign of young Martha b1826 - did she marry? [thanks to Annette, i now know it was to William BAIRD in 1855]
Can't see them in 1841 or 1861 though.

Clive,

If you haven't already done so you should view the 1855 marriage entry, on SP, of William and Martha. This will give John's ocupation. It will also state exactly where Martha was born.
These details will help Jack in his quest to help you.

Hi Annette & Clive,

I'd been working backwards with the censuses - i sometimes find this easier when i know very little on names, ages, addresses etc.

This looks like young Martha with parents & siblings in 1841 - hopefully father John's occupation will tally with the 1855 MC.
A few more family names to look out for. Will get census details at one point.

Hi Clive,

I make it,

James BAIRD - Farmer
John McLINTOCK - Weaver

(but i've seen John on the censuses  Will post soon)

I'd a look at a possible William BAIRD (23) in 1851, but he was a dyer, married, born Parkhead, Glasgow.
