Help or ideas required using wildcards please in finding the the following family on SP 1851 census.
The family surname should be Ballentine
Listed below is the transcripton from Ancestry
John Barraton aged 45 Head
Jane Barraton aged 40 B Terregles Kirkcudbrightshire
Anne Barroton aged 70 B Ireland Grandmother

Using your age and location details to narrow this down, B*N* worked for me. FYI, the actual spelling used is BANATON.
