Hi,
can anyone do a look-up please?

Seeking Adam Baird, b.c. 1806 and his wife Mary, b.c. 1802 Ireland.
He was a labourer and died 1857, Cowgate St., Greenock.

Hi Cathy,
This might be Adam & family. Mary is a wee bit younger though - in fact both are.

Hi Jack,
many thanks. This looks like them. The son Robert is the correct age.
I've learned not to fret over ages on the census. Thanks again.

Living in that area (Cowgate) they were almost certainly Catholics. In the which case there may be a baptismal record in St. Mary's for Mary who was born in Greenock about 1847 - 1848.

The e-mail is: enquiries@stmarysgreenock.org

The archivist is very helpful (but, at times, not particularly quick). Always helps to send a donation for the church fund the address is:

St. Mary's Church
14 Patrick Street
Greenock
Scotland
PA16 8NA
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.
