Jane Beattie c1843 .....

I am trying to find further information on Jane Beattie dob c 1843.
Her parents were William Beattie & Janet Callander.
Here is what I have at this time.
1./ She was born c 1843 --- place ???????
2./ She had a illegitimate child named Jemima in 1867.
3./ She later married "a" cousin,Robert Callander in 1880.
Am interested to know about Robert also

I would welcome any information what so ever on and about her.

The first group are extracted from the Old Parochial Registers

• ISABELLA BEATTIE - Christening: 08 JUN 1835 Troqueer, Kirkcudbright
  MARY BEATTIE - Christening: 14 OCT 1836 Troqueer, Kirkcudbright

The remainder are LDS submissions.

• Robert Beattie - Christening: 28 OCT 1838 Troqueer, Kirkcudbright
  William Beattie - Christening: 22 MAY 1845 Kirkbean, Kirkcudbright
  Ebebezer Beattie - Christening: 21 JAN 1848 Kirkbean, Kirkcudbright
  Thomas Beattie - Christening: 24 FEB 1851 Kirkbean, Kirkcudbright

No sign of Ann. It looks as if she was not listed in the OPRs, and the person making the LDS submissions did not find her elsewhere. You may be struggling to find a birth / christening record of her.

Note (added later): Troqueer and Kirkbean are two of the many parishes where only the female births are in the online version of the IGI. It is possible that some sons to this couple were registered in the OPRs, but you will not find them online. If they are in the IGI, you will need to find the full version of the IGI at an LDS Family History Cerntre or in a library (usually on microfiche).
