Hi Rachel,
It'll be into next week now before i can get the 1851 details.
I notice Robert & Amelia YOUNG are in Glasgow 1841 with 7 children.
And still living there in 1861, but seemingly no children with them.
Do you need these 1841 & 1861 census details too?
Jack

A wee bit confusion over Amelia's birthplace, and it's always nice to find a gr-daur!

Stevenson Young
Hi Rachel,
After looking at Robert YOUNG (as a lodger) in 1861 i realised you'd have already known all about daur Stevenson
I take it you have her in 1851 with William Carey?

Robert and Amelia Young 1851 census Glasgow
Hello Jack. Yes I have been researching Stevenson Young/Baillie for sometime, she was my GGrandmother. By the way she did have another first name "Agnes" but seemed to be referred to as Stevenson through all the records I have for her except her birth. I found her with William and Jane Carey in the 1851 census. Jane was Robert and Amelia's second child and therefore Stevenson's sister. She would not have been on that particular 1841 census as she married William Carey in 1840.
Stevenson Baillie's son Charles became my grandfather and Jane Carey produced my grandmother also Jane Carey. The marriage of cousins shortened my records somewhat.
Robert Young died shortly after the 1861 census was taken as you know he had been living with his daughter. I then traced Amelia still with her daughter on the 1871 census but she died in 1873.
All in all I have had modest success in tracing my ancestors but the 1851and 61 census CD were limited in scope. I am looking forward to using the 1861 census from SP which is I believe now online.
Again many thanks Jack.
rachel
