1861 Census David Richardson .....

Hi.

I've uploaded the 1861 census for David Richardson, born in Glasgow in 1858 to David Richardson & Janet Graham. I'm hoping to get an idea of when they married. I cannot read the image very well at all.

My best guess would be 1843....with allowance for error

You see their youngest child seems to be named Jane on this census and here is her Christening record from the BIVRI....

I wish I could tell you I also found their marriage records in the BIVRI but alas it is not there

. Perhaps the middle names of Miss Jane above will lead you in interesting directions????

Mary is in batch C116441 on the IGI born 15 March 1856
David is in batch C116221on the IGI born 29 Oct 1858

and then don't forget they had

William, and Thomas, and Ann after this census was taken.

In 1855 the place and date of the marriage of the parents was on the birth register entry for a kid, but this info was then dropped in 1856 and not restored until 1861.

In this case there isn't an 1855 birth, nor one in 1861 before the date of the census, but if you locate the family in 1871 you will find 3 further kids born in 1861 or later, on whose register entries you will find the required info, - I seem to recall having seen this date and place before

I'm hoping that the post for the 1841 Tinwald census, when David would not yet be married, might produce more than just the father Archibald Richardson.
