Hi Teresa
Yes, I'm afraid so, £6 minimum charge and for that you get 30 "credits"
It costs 1 credit (20p) to see a list of results of your search, then if you want to view the actual census page (once you are pretty sure you've got the right one of course!) it will cost 5 credits which is equal to £1. Your credits are current for one week. At the end of that time they will become inactive, but you don't lose them - next time you pay for more credits the left over ones from your last session would also be available to use.
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
and check out the FAQ section before you start.
If you are careful your 30 credits can yield quite a bit of information...
I had a quick search and there didn't seem to be a Thomas in Langholm, aged between 55-65 but there is a Mary Scott aged 41. There also seems to be one Agnes Scott aged 15 in Langholm, but I didn't have the spare credits to check out if the Mary and the Agnes are in the same household, so these may not be the people that you are looking for....
Best of luck
Lesley
