If anyone has any of the 1861 and 1871 census for Wigtownshire could they do a look up for me.
Looking for the following family who were still together in the 1881 census.
James Blain b 1824 Leswalt.
Elizabeth wife b about 1824.
Margaret day b ablout1845 Stranraer.
James son b about 1850 Stranraer.
Ellen or Hellen dau b 1864 Stranraer.
I can place this family for the 41 / 51/ 81 and 91 census, just need these two to complete this family.

Don't know if you need the following info but James Blain and Elizabeth Ewart had a daughter, Elizabeth in the magic year of 1855.
You only mention three children but six are recorded:

you are right about the other children, I also have the birth cirtificate for Elizabeth in 1855. The reason I never gave their names was the others had married and moved on so were not at the house in the 1881 census.
When I was at Park Circus the other day I did come across a new member of the family to me, but believe or no no name was giving on the death cirtificate just ----- Blain. It was for a baby that only lived for 12 days, sad eh.
