Post by Brian & Berni » Tue Jan 31, 2006 11:19 am

Could anyone find Alexander Edington born abt 1857 Benton, Northumberland, England, on the 1881 census in Scotland
Could be living with other relations or boarding there is no sign of him in 1881 in England or Wales
His parents are listed living with his wife in North Shields but I cant find him anywhere

According to his sons birth certificate in 1883 he was a merchant seaman
The 1891 census has him down as Labourer
& in 1910 on his sons marriage certificate he is a Fireman

Hi Elvis,

Had a quick look in 1881 and only one at the right age born in Midlothian.

Would suspect he would be at sea possibly on a steamship. For Fireman read Stoker.
