Post by fmackay » Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:29 pm

Can someone please tell me if you are allowed to post information about books of census you own in order to help people?

As long as this involves 1901 or previous censuses and you are not posting or making available images of such censuses that are copyright of GROS, yes ................

Hi Fiona
Check out:
http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2221
for the situation on TS.

Broadly speaking, as far as I understand it, you may not offer lookups, but if someone makes a query and you have materials which would help you answer that query then you can provide the person with information to help their research.

Hope I got that right! :?

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi David
I 'll maybe just wait to see if a query comes up! Wouldn't want to get into any trouble!

"on message" = matching the party line as advised by the spin merchants, and "PC speak" = reference to politically correct language.
