Hello All,
Iam having trouble locating George Wallace and his son George.
They were b in Glasgow and I have the family in the 1841 Census in Wemyss Fife Buckhaven.
In 1851 there is Agnes Wallace H M 70yrs Lanarkshire Glasgow
Mary Wallace D Un 35yrs Lanarkshire Glasgow
Agnes Wemyss GD Fifeshire Buckhaven
Missing is George Wallace 70yrs ?
George Wallace 20yrs both b Glasgow both were weavers.
Agnes is not a wid in 1851 but is widowed when she died in 1862.
I have once again waisted money on scotlands people doing a search for them to no avail. My question is did the woolen mills work a night shift and was it counted on census night ?
I am at a loss on this family as I can not get a death for either of them giving there birth years. i think i have opened every George Wallace death on SP. Need a death if possible to be able to move back.
Georges birth was given as abt 1795 Glasgow I have one for 1791 that seems to fit but cant be positive .
Any suggestions please.

I'm sorry I can't help with all your questions, but would like to say that I have often come up with 0 results when searching using birth years. Leaving them out or giving a wide margin: +/- 5/10years has been helpful.
A 1791 birth for someone that you have noted as born about 1795 is well worth keeping in mind as a possible.
Kind regards
Catriona

Wallace Family Help needed.
Hello Catrional,
Many thanks for the reply. Yes I have looked at 1791 as well as a possibility but no luck. Guess I will still have to keep searching.
Seems strange that I cant get him on the 1851 Census as his wife is listed as Head of House but not widowed. She is widowed in 1861 Census.
I still dont know if the Weaving Mills worked a night shift.
Regards
Margaret.
