census - ages rounded .....

hi looking for some help

can someone tell me if im right in thinking that on the 1841 census ages were sometimes rounded to the nearest five?

Yes, ages were rounded down (mostly, there are exceptions, as always!) - see the census link at the top of the page for more info about the 1841 and other census years.

Rounding down for those age over 15 was the instruction to enumerators.

Those aged 15 or less were to be shown as the actual age.
