Jack,

I know your over in Clydebank now but if you don't get the pic of the church on Hawick street I can grab that one, I'm in the Scottish Power site every few days. I can also grab Hairst Street if you want as I'm over at Barshaw Park.

Let me know

Stuart

Hi Jack,

Even with all the age differences on all documents I have not found Mary Boyd. Have tried 1812-1829, she's really hiding from me.

As for James, I tried 1843-50 no birth. So as he was 14 in 1861, I looked for a marriage for him. I FOUND IT. And it was not hard to pick the right James as he married a gal with the last name Grieve and Mary Boyds daughter Margaret named one of her twins middle name Grieve. Sure wish the Americans had followed that practice, it would be so much easy for he ones here.

As for my brother, I have copies of his birth and also his death here in US.

You are so kind also, still trying to piece my family together for me with pictures, I sure do appreciate everything. I have finally made my mind up on a digital camera as my husband bought me a new printer for my birthday that you can do your film on. He figured that was the only way I'd spend the money for a camera. He knows the Scot in me very well. So friday, its off to town to do my shopping.

Hi Stuart,

That's very kind of you - Marva will get her photies quicker, and without doubt much better too! But i'm your man for fuzzy pictures of fingers.

Marva, always the chance that Mary Boyd and son James never were recorded. Often the only way you know of someone is through seeing their name on censuses, MCs, DCs etc.
Rather annoying, but little we can do about it. I just accept that the ancestors i've got with approximate births will always be as that - but, eternal optimist that i am, hope that something will turn up on them one day.

Glad to hear you found James' MC - at least their children should be officially recorded! Do you have a note of the family on the 1881 census?

You mention you have your brother's BC, i take it he wasn't actually born at Glen Crescent, just lived there at one point?

JACK & STUART

I contacted the Renfrewshire Council and she has been back to me twice. Tonight she sent me listings for 1841 census of Park's. There was my Alexander Park & Mary Boyd living at Canal St. along with Alexanders parents and their ages. She is going to check 1851 census as soon as she can and had me send her where they were living at that time. No problem, looks like they lived at 24 Canal St. in 1841 and I have found them there in 1858, 1863 & 1867. She is going to check 1851 census for their children. So Maybe....................

As for where my brother was born. That's a shame on me. I have his BC and never paid attention to where. He was born 2 Glen Crescent.

Don't think I'm not riding on cloud 9 right now, you have been so helpful to me I surely do appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Marva
