Hi Skaville
You need a program which can open TIFF files.
Maybe try Irfanview, a free image program:

Hi skaville
I'm prone to using highly technical terms so follow closely....
The way I've managed to save, view and later manipulate images purchased and downloaded from SP is to...
1. Save them to your computer with a name or in a folder that you can find again somewhat easily
2. Once saved go to that easily located spot and click on the image and it will say it can't open it but you can choose the program you wish to attempt this with.....with my current setup here I open things in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
3. Now it will open and then you can opt to change the format to a TIF file and resave it. TIF is favored for the format that allows it to be zoomed in on for closer analysis of handwriting etc.
4. So basically you have two files same name different formats. You could probably delete the first one if space is a consideration.... but I never do....
I'm running Windows XP Professional on a computer that was born pre millenium and I use Activex when viewing the images on SP. Not sure if any of that makes a diff but it probably does somehow! If this doesn't work then please wait for the real technicians to stop by
Best wishes

Once again, many thanx. Just ran out of credits but saved what i could. If anyone has spare credits, 1 of the rellies i may have found was Sarah Cameron(18). The only trouble was she was at the top of a page where i used my last 5 credits so i dont know if its mine. Need to know if her father was Peter Cameronapprox 38), tinsmith on the previous page. Its on the 1871 census living in Castlebank Rd, Govan, Partick.
Cheers again everyone. You know what your doing, i dont.
