I've found someone who is classed as a vagrant in the 1851 census and listed under her surname, age, and place of birth. I've no idea where this person is in 1861 and am wondering if a vagrant was listed (by some miracle), but under no surname and/or christian name, how might I search for them on Scotlands People?
Thanks in advance,
Scott

Re: Vagrants in 1861
If you know where you are then you could spool thru the microfilm for that district and see if there are any vagrants recorded. It's not unusual for it to be recorded that a number of vagrants were living rough in a bothy or a tent or whatever, but it wasn't possible to get their names..... but part of being a vagrant was moving around ..........Scooter wrote:I've found someone who is classed as a vagrant in the 1851 census and listed under her surname, age, and place of birth.
