Bridget Logan 1891 Hutchestown no image .....

Hi all,

I got all excited when I thought I had found part of my Logan family on the 1891 census, but there is no image online.

1891 LOGAN BRIDGET F 36 HUTCHESONTOWN GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/11 0A1/11 029

If she is the correct one she should be married to James Logan.

To see this family I will have to order the certificate, which is more money than I wish to spend on a sibling of my main line.

Can anyone help?

Hi Nina,
I'd taken a note of them from the 1891 census film when i was at The Mitchell Library in Glasgow.
When you have the GROS No. it's generally quite easy to find someone,
tho' this time i did need to check Bridget's on the fiche index first - there is no Enum. Dist. 0A1...!

So i looked at the fiche index, and this had Bridget age 36 on Ed 101.
The first page of the Enum Dist must've had 101 - else i wouldn't have found her.
But i will check,

No need to, - it looks like a sytematic error in the 1891 census, the first two digits of an ED number greater than 99 are converted to hexadecimal, so that 100 becomes A0, except that there's a leading 0 inserted as the field always has three characters.
