Hullo Sue

A warm welcome to the Talking Scot forum.

The Census you asked about are all online at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk I know however, from experience that with so many people bearing the same names, finding needles in haystacks is almost easy by comparaison.

Are you looking for any particular names and parishes in Lewis? Their dates of birth?

Best wishes

Hi Sue
Well, glad you decided to join us here at Talking Scot :D
If you have any questions, we're always here to help!

Sometimes it's good idea to post any names and dates of folk you are having difficulty with (from long ago only please!! ) or any particular info you are trying to find and we may be able to help out. Scotlands People is the best place for census info, but its always worth trying the free sources or asking around on here first, just incase someone else is researching the same family.

There are some census links here:
viewtopic.php?t=3514
and information here:

For general background info on the Scottish census - try the Census link at the top of the page.

Best wishes

Hi Sue and Lesley

The Barvas Census for 1841 and 1851 are not yet available on FreeCen. However the 1841 should be in the not too distant future.

Have a good day.
