Looking for Jane CULLEN .....

Hello all,

I am looking for a Jane CULLEN in census years after 1851.

She would be in Dunbarton/Dumbarton and would have ben born in 1820 +or- 5 maybe 10. She died in 1893. She was originally from Ireland and may have come to Scotland with her sons Daniel, John or James.

Have you tried looking for Jane on Scotlands People in the 1861 onwards? Or have you had problems finding her there?

You don't state whether she would have been married or widowed. A search of Dunbartonshire in 1881 does not turn up an immediate suspect. There is however this family in Glasgow........

Sorry, She may have been a widower. Originally married to a Patrick Cullen. But may have come to Scotland after his death or re-married. She would most likely be in Dumbarton. She may even have come after 1881 to live with her sons who emigrated before 1876.

This may or may not assist you. In Dumbarton in 1881 there are several households of CULLEN but no sign of Jane. Not sure if you have seen any of these but perhaps you can pick out some of her sons from these??? I'm also wondering who the Julia is???
