I have the above in 1881 in Lesmahagow, born 1826 in Uphall West Lothian.

Any sightings of him and wife Marion, also daughter Catherine, born 1847/8 in Lesmahagow in previous censuses?

You should be able to find Archibald CUNNINGHAM on SP, but if you've image problems i could get a transcription.

I've no access to the 1871 census, but you'd expect Archibald still to be in Lesmahagow.

It would appear that Cathrine CUNNINGHAM's age of 33 in 1881 is an error - she was born 1857.

Archibald & Robert might be in the OPRs - seems the IGI only have the female births in Lesmahagow pre 1855.
I take it you have the 7 younger children of Archibald CUNNINGHAM and Marion SCOTT from the IGI?
And a bonus with wee James born 1855. [but maybe he's died young?]

This is really wierd. When I first found this couple I looked on the IGI for children using the parents names and the result was nil! Did it again in case I had mis spelled the names and again nothing.

When I found them in 1881 with Catherine aged 33. I used her to look for them in other censuses and , of course, couldn't find them as she was 23!

After your reply showing the children on the IGI, I looked again and there they were!!!

As I said...............wierd!

However I'm up and running now with the info you have given me
