Hi Wanda
- do you mean they would be aged 68 and 78 in the 1851 census? Or 1861 census?

Best wishes

Hi Wanda

Do you happen to know an occupation for John? A quick look in 1851 for any age 65 to 70 brings up two both aged 66. One has a wife Mary and is a cabinet maker......so not looking likely. The other is a widower....and a calenderer so this might be him. If you think so his GROS reference is 622/00 022/00 020.

Best wishes
Jean

Sorry Ladies, I wasn't very specific was I....... Anyway, John was married to a Jane or Jean, he would probably be 68 in 1751 and 78 in 1861, he was a candlemaker or soapmaker according to the 1841 census. Can't find a DC for him so have no idea when he died....
Thanks for your help
Wanda
