Eaglesham Family .....

John Eaglesham who married Helen Todd
Trying to locate descendents of the Eaglesham Family from the Busby. Gorbals areas of Glasgow in the late 1800's till the 1920's.

Date of the marriage ?

I assume that you have the death register entries from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for John and Helen (Nellie)?

The one listed on IGI is for a John Eaglesham & ELLEN Todd 1883.

Thanks for the help so far. the John Eaglesham and Ellen Todd is the right one. this was John's 2nd marriage. His first was AGNES TODD ... Helens sister!!

Just to make life interesting, on Agnes' death register entry, the registrar shows her husband's given name as James instead of John :!:

Can anyone answer why the children are listed as Not in school in the Census?
I have a couple of mine like this a bit later-1881 Census & could not work out why this had been noted.Were they truanting?Not able to afford the fees? I am sure that compulsory education had not been implemented by then? :oops:
