Hi all
I am a newbie here so I hope I am doing this right
I am looking for my McIntosh family from Nairn.
Isabella McIntosh b 1830 Nairn
Father William Mc Intosh b approx 1790 d 1860
Mother Isabella McQueen b approx 1800 d 1885
Isabella came to Aust in 1854 however her parents stayed behind in Scotland and I would just like to know abit more about them.
Hoping someone can throw some ideas or info my way. I am a novice at tracing my family in Scotland.
Many thanks
Troods

Hi troods and welcome to TalkingScot!
You have the death dates for Isabella's parents but not sure if you've got their Death Certs yet. If not these can be obtained from going to the ScotlandsPeople website and using a credit card to purchase credits. You can access this site through our "Sources" link or here:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
The info can be viewed online for most Statutory records which both of these deaths would be. In Isabella's case her Death Cert will show you her parents names and also a son who was the informant. I didn't check for William's but there in only one death in 1860 in Nairn so it may well be his and with any luck will have equally as good info.
Unfortunately the 1851 census is not available online yet. You could visit your local Family History Center and order in the microfilm for that particular Parish and check for yourself or wait until later this year or early next when hopefully all Scotland census records will be available through Scotland's People.
Best wishes
Jean
