Howdy Folks New Member Here.....

Post by Dona » Wed Apr 27, 2005 6:10 am

I had total withdrawl symptons when the Discussion Group shut down at Scotland's People.

I just discovered this site.... good to see some familiar names. so I am back and will have lots of questions regarding my Scottish ancestors.

I'm still researching
McNay, Baxter, Paterson, McGowan

Hi Dona,

Welcome. :)

I felt the same about the SP discussion group and was very relieved when I found TS.

I see you're researching Patersons (you too Wendy). I have Charles Paterson from Liberton, Midlothian who married Christian Wood in 1803. Any connection?

Regards,

Alison

Hi Alison ..the only info I have been able to get is ANN PATERSON
1815 Kilwinning, Aryshire, ???? Scotland...I haven't been able to verify who her parents were....she married Hugh Anderson 05 June 1836 Rutherglen, Lanark, Scotland....according to IGI and the OPR Marriages ...interesting enough the place shows as RUTHERGLEN I also have 2 different ares that ANN was born in Kilwinning and Rutherglen

I am still TRYING to find a death certificate for Ann after 1890 probably in the Riccarton, Ayrshire, area...as this is where Hugh died in 1890 ( 34 New Street, Riccarton, Ayrshire)I have Hugh's death certificate.....there are a LOT of Ann's to wade through...on Scotland people site.....will get back to you when I know more....good hunting
