Hi there,
Has anyone been able to look at subsequent pages on any census years? I was sure on my 1891 census that there should have been children on it and contacted Scotlandspeople online. They looked for me and said there was no children.
Now having a chance to look at all my info with a fresh eye - I have noticed that i have purchased two lots of pages for the same street in the same year (1901) if i had been able to look at all pages for the same address i could have saved a lot of time!
Maybe it's me and i am doing something wrong. Does anyone have any advice? Ta in advance.

Hi Ailsa
It often happens that the head of the house is on one page and the some of the rest of the famil;y are listed on the next one whioch is a bit of a bind as you have to spend another 5 credits bringing up the subsequent page.
When you look at a census the enumerator either draws a double line under the end of an entry for a household (early ones) or draws a double oblique line in the column to the left of the names. If there is no double line below the bottom entry it means the household is continued on the next page.
A couple of times we have found that the folk on the next page were lodgers which was of no help at all
but other times we have discovered a batch of kids we didn't even know about, or a grandchild which opened up a whole new line of enquiry.
FreeCen is great because you can work your way up or down the street to see who their neighbours were
