A warm welcome to TalkingScot Benji.
I would assume that your Grandparents were born before 1906 & in Scotland if so you can look at their birth at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ which is a pay-to-view site but very reasonable.
On this you should find the names of both parents, occupation of Father,date/place of marriage & time/place of birth & usual residence if different from this.
It may also be worthwhile looking at the same place on the 1901 Census when they may have been at home with their parents/other siblings.
If they were born after 1906 then you have to search in person at either GROS in Edinburgh or at Park Circus in Glasgow which has BMD info for Glasgow & surrounding areas & the Censuses.
Have a look at the Sources above which have lots of usual advice & if you need any help keep asking-we were all newbies once. :D
Researching:SCOTT,Taylor,Young,VEITCH LINLEY,MIDLOTHIAN
WADDELL,ROSS,TORRANCE,GOVAN/DALMUIR/Clackmanannshire
CARR/LEITCH-Scotland,Ireland(County Donegal)
LINLEY/VEITCH-SASK.Canada
ALSO BROWN,MCKIMMIE,MCDOWALL,FRASER.

Hi benji

Do you happen to know what your grandmother's maiden name was? If you obtain a copy of your mum's BC it will not only contain that bit of info but also where her parents were married. Then in turn locating their MC will lead you to each of their parents names and so forth. Becasue your mum's birth is after 1906 you'll have to either order a copy from GROS or visit in person and look up the info yourself....or hire it done for you (or find a kind soul to volunteer!) Not sure where you're from? Same with a DC for youir grandad. The online Scottish statutory records are only available as....

» Births 1855-1906
» Marriages 1855-1931
» Deaths 1855-1956

any others newer than these and you won't find them online anywhere. :? (Good news is that perhaps later this year there will be indexes available...but still no images)

All that said...there are 4 marriages of a Francis Anderson to an Ann*....but not knowing her surname makes it a bit of a guessing game. Unfortunately none of them are in Glasgow area so I"m at a bit of a standstill at the moment.......

1914 ANDERSON FRANCIS COOPER JANE ANN ST MARY DUNDEE CITY/ANGUS 282/02 0137 VIEW (5 CREDITS) ORDER
1896 ANDERSON FRANCIS MILLER ANNIE DUNFERMLINE /FIFE 424/00 0153 VIEW (5 CREDITS) ORDER
1909 ANDERSON FRANCIS WILLIAM LAING ANNIE DURNO RAYNE /ABERDEEN 236/00 0001 VIEW (5 CREDITS) ORDER
1901 ANDERSON WILLIAM FRANCIS RODGERS ELIZABETH ANN ST PETER DUNDEE CITY/ANGUS 282/01 0158
