Robert LAMOND & Euphemia SHARP m. 1850

Post by Alan SHARP » Sat Jan 22, 2011 9:05 am

Greetings from New Zealand.

I am interested in making contact, with anyone who has this family, in their family tree.

Robert LAMOND & Euphemia SHARP married at Eastwood, Renfrewshire on August 24, 1850.
Euphemia was born at neighbouring Cathcart, in January 1824. In 1841 they were residing in King Street Pollockshaws.

Children recorded in the Eastwood OPR being:-
3. Elizabeth Marshall, September 16, 1856
4. Euphemia, March 23, 1859
5. William, October 11, 1861
6. Robert, July 15, 1864
7. Marshall, March 28, 1867

Both Marshal/l and Euphemia [with variations] are not that common as Forenames, and could be indicators of a family link. Refer to this post about surviving photos:-

Hi Russell.

I see it is exactly a year since you wished me well with this particular research. Not so long ago I got my TS "Jean's" mixed up, but the out come has been an introduction to another go-getter from the consumer committee, who sorted me out re census material, and now we have made progress of sorts, with this family. The problem being surname spelling varients, with both sides of the family. Some Family Search submissions, tend to indicate emigration of members to the States / Canada, but local records have now been found that show that most, unaccounted for ones, spent a life time within hailing distance of Shawsbridge Road.

Quite evidently SHARP or SHARPE is a name that has transcribed well down through the ages, it's just the case of sorting out all the cousins with a very limited range of Christian/given/aka's.
